29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

Bible In One Year: Ezekiel 34-35, 1 Peter 2:1-25

MESSAGE:

Diligence is doing something persistently. It is doing something until you become perfect at it. There are several examples of those who were persistent in the Bible and got the reward. Daniel was diligent in learning the Chaldean language and in His service to the king. This later resulted in promotion. David was also diligent at his watch over his father’s flock, the skills he acquired at it helped in the defeat of Goliath. Whether in your academics or service to God, it is expected of you to be diligent. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says:

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”

Although no one is expecting you to die now, while you are young and agile, do everything diligently. So even if it is a chore that you are asked to do, do it with all your might. Don’t give room for mediocrity.

Key Point:

Only the diligent rises and stays at the top.
