TOPIC: Stay At The Door [Open Heaven for Teens 17 April 2021]

MEMORISE: And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door. 2 Kings 4:15

READ: 2 Kings 4:12

12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

2 Kings 4:14-15

  1. And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.
  2. And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Samuel 22-24, Luke 16:1-31

MESSAGE:

Relating with the opposite sex is a delicate matter. A great woman noticed the movement of Prophet Elisha and perceived that he was a genuine man of God. In agreement with her husband, she gave him a befitting accommodation. The man of God also perceived that she needed something, so he sent for her. The first time she honoured his call, she stood before him, not beside him (2 Kings 4:12 ). At his second call, she stood by the door (vs 15). She didn’t act in a familiar way or march boldly into his room to sit on the bed.

You must know how to set boundaries when dealing with the opposite sex. As a young lady, you must learn how to comport yourself. Many teenage girls have lost their virginity due to ignorance, carelessness or overconfidence. It would be foolish of a girl to hang around boys in dark and deserted places. This is to guard against rape or fornication. Also, set boundaries in your chat with the opposite sex. Don’t use endearing words such as sweetheart, babe, boo et cetera.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, let my life bring honour to Your name at all times.

HYMN: AMAZING GRACE

  1. Amazing grace! how sweet the sound!
    That saved a wretch like me;
    I once was lost, but now am found,
    Was blind, but now I see.
  2. ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my fears relieved;
    How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed!
  3. Through many dangers, toils and snares
    I have already come;
    ‘Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
    And grace will lead me home.
  4. Yes, when this heart and flesh shall fail,
    And mortal life shall cease,
    I shall possess within the veil,
    A life of joy and peace
