MESSAGE:
Home training differs across cultures and geographical space. For instance, if a Yoruba girl genuflects or kneels to greet an elderly Nigerian, she will be considered to have home training but if the same girl sees an elderly American man and says “Good morning sir. It’s nice to see you today”, he would applaud her for being courteous and respectful. Respect is an aspect of home training that you should learn from a tender age.
However, on a general note, a good home training is when you are taught to speak, think and behave right towards others. When Abraham saw three visitors in Genesis 18:1-33, he bowed himself to the ground. In Genesis 19:1, Lot, his nephew did the same to strangers. This shows that humility was part of the training they got from their parents and they expressed it to anyone. Take all the needed training from your parents. Be respectful, learn chores and do them as and when due.
