TOPIC: Overcoming Anxiety (II) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 16 November 2021)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Acts 13-14

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Philippians 4:4-9; Matthew 6:25-34; Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)

Philippians 4:4-9:
4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Matthew 6:25-34:
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Matthew 11:28-30:
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

MEMORY VERSE: “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
When you are ignorant of who you are, you easily fall prey to beggarly powers. Arise and contend for your divine position!

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
POWERS ASSIGNED TO TROUBLE YOU SHALL BE ARRESTED AND DESTROYED TODAY, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

Mountain Top Life MESSAGE:

Anxiety is satan’s weapon of unrest. Anxiety and worry are both rooted in unhealthy fear. Fear has torment! God foresees our response to issues of life, hence He gave us 365 divine caplets of “Fear Not”. He knows we are prone to fear. Anxiety will drain a person’s physical, mental emotional and spiritual energy if it’s not checkmated. It may end in bodily sickness, mental and emotional disorder, and it disconnects you from God spiritually.

The apostle Paul, in 2 Timothy 1:7, stated that God has not given us the spirit of fear, but that of love, power and sound mind. You cannot entertain fear and yet remain loving, bold and possess a sound mind. Anxiety weakens the hearts and minds of men. Christians must be careful. Why should you allow the accuser of the brethren, the enemy of our soul, satan, to steal your peace and joy, and have you to wallow in distress while there are lots of divine promises for you.

Remember, satan has come to steal, to kill and to destroy, but Jesus has come to give us abundant life (John 10:10b).

When fear comes in, faith jumps out. The Bible says without faith, no man can please God (Hebrews 11:6). Those who heard the word of God but were too fearful or doubtful to believe could not enter into the rest of God according to Hebrews 4:1-3. What a calamity! May God give you rest from every problem that puts you under pressure, in Jesus’ name.

You have no reason to remain under the yoke of anxiety, especially if you are a child of God. There are many promises laid out in the Scriptures to attend to your worries and anxieties. All that is required of you is to get back to God’s word. Read and meditate upon those words, believe them and you are liberated.

However, if you are not born again, the enemy has a legal right to torment you with fear, worry and anxiety as well as their terrible consequences. You can stop the enemy’s activities in your life and overcome him by giving your life to Jesus Christ. Once you do that, the Holy Spirit will begin to indwell and help you. By reading, meditating and obeying God’s word daily, your faith will grow and worry as well as anxiety will fizzle out of your life.
