TOPIC: Life Is A Vapour (Seeds Of Destiny 22 March 2022)
SCRIPTURE: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Live with a sense of urgency.
The founder of Apple Computers, Steve Jobs who died some years ago at the age of 54 went to give a fifteen-minute talk in a University. He said that he had noticed a symptom in his body and it was medically proven that it was of a terminal disease. He said that by the time the doctors showed him his diagnosis, the whole of his life came before him.

He began to think: “How did I live? How should I have lived? What should I do?” Then he made this conclusion: “Live each day as if it is the last because one day, it will be the last.”
The question is, how would you live if you knew that you have just 24 hours left? Live it now because one day, everyone will have only 24hrs to live. Do not wait for those 24hrs to arrive. Live it now.
Life is a vapour according to James 4:14. This is not to scare you, or to say that you will die tomorrow. No! But you are being reminded to live on the edge. Live with a sense of urgency. Understand your priorities and your posteriorities. Know what to put in front of you and know what to put behind you.
Do not bother yourself with what does not matter. Do not spend your lifetime making enemies because life is a vapour. Ensure you have quality relationship with your Maker and the people around you. Relate well with the people in your life – your husband, wife, brother, sister, and other loved ones.
And finally, ensure you make quality impact in life. Live a life to be remembered by your generation for something good.
Remember this: Live with a sense of urgency.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Avoid procrastination; do what is needful on time.
- If you know that your life is not glorifying God, ask God for mercy and repent.
- Ask God for the grace to live right.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to live with a sense of urgency. Help me Lord to impact my community, city, nation and generation, so I can bring glory to Your Name, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
