TOPIC: Sibling Rivalry (II) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 16 April 2021)
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 56, 120, 140, 142
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 4:1-11
1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I DECREE THAT THE SPIRIT OF UNHEALTHY RIVALRY IS BANISHED FROM YOUR FAMILY, HENCEFORTH, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
The MESSAGE:
Everything created by God was declared good (Genesis 1:31). This gives us a divine verdict that God did not create anything bad from the beginning. Sin came in when Adam and Eve fell into temptation of the serpent (Genesis 3). Consequently, we see the first manifestation of sibling rivalry between Cain and Abel in Genesis 4. We saw hatred, anger, bitterness, envy and jealousy with many underlying negative emotions manifesting through Cain. He eventually murdered his brother and got divine punishment as a result of this evil act.

Beloved, have you ever entertained any of the above negative emotions? Do you presently harbour any against your own siblings? You need a change of heart right now!
Envy and jealousy can be best described as evil twins. Why desire what belongs to another? It is an evil craving! Why should you think that position is better occupied by you and not your brother or sister? What makes you think you can perform better in that instance than your brother? Why do you like contentions?
Working unjustly against your sibling, who is a believer of God can earn you some divine rebuke which may be costly. Above all, envy and jealousy are seeds of evil, works of the flesh, and all who engage in them shall not inherit the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). All of these defile and make it impossible for the Holy Spirit to dwell in such lives.
Beloved, you need to go to God in repentance. Confess and pray against these evil tenants in your life. Evacuate them with the fire of the Holy Ghost. Forgive one another and continue to relate in the love of God.
Envy and jealousy are abomination and grievous sin before God. Do not entertain them. Rather be contended with who you are and what God has made and will make you to become. Appreciate it and be thankful to God!
The seed of envy and jealousy in you must die, in the name of Jesus. They led Aaron and Miriam to conspire against their brother (Moses). What an error! They had forgotten that he is a friend of God. That earned Miriam leprosy, she became a leper for a while. Watch it dear brother and sister!
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Every seed of sin in my life, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
- Blood of Jesus, flush out every sin that defiles in my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Power to love my siblings unintentionally, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Power to overcome every work of the flesh, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
- I refuse to harbour evil imagination, in the name of Jesus.
- I pull down every stronghold of envy and jealousy, in the name of Jesus.
- O God, arise and make me Your citadel of holiness, in the name of Jesus.
