19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be entire of light.

23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

Drawing closer to God should be a priority for all believers. Some Christians desire this but do not know how to achieve it. Today, we will examine how we can get closer to God.

As much as going to church is very healthy for the believer, if his heart is not in love with the Lord, his service is not regarded by God. To draw closer to God, your heart must be ready and willing to submit to Him. There is no service to God without your hearts. To draw closer to God, you must check the state of your heart; it must be thoroughly cleansed with the blood of Jesus and the word of God. God loves to dwell in the hearts of men, to channel their desires according to His will and keep the fire of love ignited in their hearts. You cannot draw closer to God when your heart has other desires above your desire for God; they will kill the zeal you have for God. Matthew 6:21, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." The heart is the deepest part of man and that is why God wants us to surrender it to Him.

The word of God is another channel for drawing closer to God. God's word reveals God to you. You can communicate with God through His word. There is no question that God's word cannot answer and there is no situation that God's word cannot overcome. Psalms 119:11, "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Sin is the entity that draws man away from God because God cannot behold iniquity. The word of God gives you knowledge and power to access the secrets of God. God is bound to His word. You cannot draw closer to Him without His word.

You can be a close as you want to be with God. Prayer is a very important key in this regard. You must make daily observance of your Quiet Time a top priority. The time you spend in studying and meditating on God's word daily as well as in praying to God will bring you into intimacy with the Almighty.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Father, by Your mercy, draw me closer to You, in the name of Jesus.
2. Father, help me to see You more clearly, day by day, in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, help me to love you more dearly, day by day, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. My Father, help me to follow you more nearly, day by day, in the name of Jesus.
5. Any sin programmed to separate me from God, die, in the name of Jesus.
6. Covenants assigned to lead me to perdition, die, in the name of Jesus.
7. Father, lead me into deeper communion and intimacy with You, in the name of Jesus.
